How to Use FYT Assistant

Everything you need to know about voice commands, wake word, navigation, media control, and more.

Getting Started

Voice Input

Tap the microphone icon at the bottom of the screen to start voice input. Speak clearly and wait for the AI to respond. The AI will read the answer aloud using the built-in text-to-speech engine.

Wake Word Hands-free

Enable wake word detection in Settings → Voice Wake. Say "Hey Radio" or "Hello Radio" to activate voice input without touching the screen.

You can customize the wake word in Settings. The default is "Radio".

Floating Assistant

Enable the floating icon in Settings → Floating Assistant. A small icon will appear on your screen that you can tap anytime to start voice input, even when using other apps like navigation or music.

Quick Voice Commands

System Control

  • "Go home" — Return to home screen
  • "Screen off" / "Screen on" — Turn display off or on
  • "Open settings" — Open system settings
  • "Brighter" / "Dimmer" — Adjust screen brightness
  • "Brightest" / "Dimmest" — Set max or min brightness

Media Control

  • "Play" / "Pause" — Play or pause media
  • "Resume play" / "Continue playing" — Resume playback
  • "Next" / "Next track" — Skip to next track
  • "Previous" / "Previous track" — Go to previous track
  • "Volume up" / "Volume down" — Adjust volume
  • "Mute" / "Unmute" — Mute or unmute audio
  • "Max volume" — Set maximum volume

Open Apps

  • "Open music" — Open music player and start playback
  • "Open video" — Open video player and start playback
  • "Open maps" — Open Google Maps
  • "Open YouTube" — Open YouTube
  • "Open radio" — Open FM radio
  • "Open phone" — Open Bluetooth phone
  • "Open CarPlay" — Open CarLink
  • "Open Android Auto" — Open CarLink
  • "Open EQ" / "Equalizer" — Open sound equalizer
  • "Open WiFi" — Open WiFi settings
  • "Open files" — Open file manager

YouTube Search

  • "Play [video] on YouTube" — Search and play video
  • "Watch [topic]" — Watch videos about a topic
  • "Videos of [topic]" — Search for topic videos

Examples: "Play music video on YouTube", "Watch NBA", "Videos of cooking"

Close Apps

  • "Close music" / "Quit music" — Close music player
  • "Close YouTube" — Close YouTube
  • "Close navigation" / "Close maps" — Close navigation
  • "Close radio" — Close FM radio
  • "Close video" — Close video player
  • "Close CarPlay" — Close CarLink
  • "Close settings" — Close settings

Navigation & Phone

Navigation

  • "Navigate to Walmart" — Start navigation
  • "Take me to the airport" — Get directions
  • "Directions to Starbucks" — Find route
  • "Go to Target Store" — Navigate to place
  • "Drive to 123 Main Street" — Navigate to address

Google Maps will start navigation automatically. You can also choose CarPlay or Android Auto — your preference will be remembered.

Nearby Search

  • "Find a gas station near me" — Search nearby places
  • "Nearest Walmart" — Find closest location
  • "Where is the nearest hospital" — Locate nearby
  • "Find a restaurant nearby" — Search nearby

Opens Google Maps with nearby search results. Works with any place type.

Bluetooth Phone

  • "Call John" — Call contact by name
  • "Call 555-1234" — Dial a phone number
  • "Answer" — Answer incoming call
  • "Hang up" — End current call
  • "Reject" — Reject incoming call
  • "Redial" — Redial last number

Connect your phone via Bluetooth first. Contacts will sync automatically.

  • "Bluetooth settings" — Open Bluetooth settings
  • "Open Bluetooth" — Open Bluetooth settings
  • "Turn on Bluetooth" — Enable Bluetooth
  • "Turn off Bluetooth" — Disable Bluetooth
  • "WiFi settings" / "Open WiFi" — Open WiFi settings
  • "Display settings" — Open display settings

Tips

💡 Good to Know

  • Voice recognition works offline — no internet needed for commands
  • AI chat requires internet for smart answers
  • Built-in TTS reads all AI responses aloud — no extra app needed
  • For commands not listed above, just ask naturally — the AI understands
